Monocle's PCB, display, camera, and touch sensor are mounted together with its prism optic atop a neatly designed programming board, making hacking a first class experience.
The Monocle Dev Kit will arrive with a deconstructed Monocle consisting of two modules:
1. Optical (prism and display)
2. Hardware (PCBA, camera, and touch sensor).
Monocle ships with its charging case and accompanying USB-C cable (wall charger not included). All Monocle purchases come with access to the Brilliant App to transfer your photos through encrypted bluetooth.
The Brilliant App download information will be sent with the device, or can be downloaded now through the App Store or Play Store.
All together, deconstructed Monocle: optical prism and hardware, and packaging weigh 50g. For normal anticipated use, Monocle's battery will last close to 1 hour and can be recharged in its case up to 6 times. The camera will capture at 720p and the display will output 640x400 resolution.
Monocle weighs just 15g. Monocle comes with a charging case (like wireless headphones). Depending on use, the Monocle battery can last up to one hour, and the charging case provides around 6 recharges on the go. The charging case can be recharged using any standard USB-C power cable. Fast charging is enabled so you can keep using it throughout your workflow. The camera will capture at 720p and the display will output 640x400 resolution.
